I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!

I love this holiday, the snow, carols, and hot coco. Course I am in a place with NO snow. Kinda hard to get into the holiday for me with no snow. after presents and brunch we took off to the beach to walk and take some pictures. Not too chilly and could walk with just a long sleeve shirt. Enjoyed it immensely and had a ton of fun taking pics!

Well I made it!

I made it to Washington yesterday. Not too many delays and problems. Glad to be here, glad I am with my mom and brother. Mom has to work today so I am here to watch the puppy and get decorated for Christmas. This should be fun. All the old decorations from when i was a kid. Even my old stocking! NOW that I am on vacation I should be at least able to post those pics!!

Here is a picture of the Tacoma bridge all lit up for Christmas. This pic is horrible but it was magnificent to see!

My christmas letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my
children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor,
sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree
on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out
over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my
son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between
cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18
years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple,
which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze;
but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy
aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh
month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint
resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television
that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a
refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can
hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes,
Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't
fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the
use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in
the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my
voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only
be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough
time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the
luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being
served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to
brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare
ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely.

It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the
house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an
organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet
under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a
safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in
and dry off so you don't catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave
crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always,

MOM...!

PS i did not write this.....

Time to update....well past time actually

Just been enjoying the season, being with my kids and decorating for the holidays. Got the tree up on Saturday, no pictures yet. Still have the plastic boxes all over the living room cuz I have to do the decorations in stages. as soon as those clear i will take some pics to post. Sunday we did pretty much nothing. Some laundry and some more decorating, played monopoly and watched a Christmas story. It was just nice not to have to go shopping or anything. I have almost all my shopping done! Just need to do some w'out my kids if ya know what I mean. I have all the gifts and some even wrapped, just need to get my butt moving on the ones I need to mail. only three really so it wont be too bad.

Here is a layout I did last weekend during the cyber crop at the little scrapbox. it was fun to just hang out in the scrap room and get some Christmas presents done. I did this layout as a challenge on a favorite Christmas gift. I love this gift and had to do it!! Oh and it was also a contest and I won!!!

wondering, retreat, refresh

ever notice that life seems to be pushing you into a corner? With the walls coming closer and closer to your head till you feel squeezed into a space so small you explode? then soon after you take a break, a weekend, a walk, or a vacation and you feel relaxed and refreshed. Ready to head back to the 'real' world and tackle the corner all over again? With sick kids, major stress at work this week, and just the general apprehension of Christmas sneaking up, i want a vacation. Now. Not two weeks from now, not this weekend. Right now. I took a break from work, drove to the local Java hut (see my play on the star wars icon) and got a Almond Mocha Rocha with white chocolate instead of brown (or is is it dark?). And I had my vacation. I pulled off the side of the road and drank the creamy, smooth mocha and felt it on my tongue, then felt it drip down my throat. I feel sooo much better. I am ready again. I can see the corner from here. oh wait the kids came in with a ton of homework, someone is on hold waiting to yell at me, and my dad wants two quotes done right now. OK....well I am at the corner...anyone want to go pick me up some almond mocha Rocha with a side of tekillya?

Home with a sick kid

Poor baby has a fever and a sore throat. So far thats all it is! Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't turn into strep.

yesterday was a good day. Taylor slept most of it and Chris had reading for school to do so I scrapped! Not a ton of pages just one actually but finished up my Christmas cards and some presents! nice to get that done.

Today I am going to do some housecleaning while I can...and hopefully get some more proofing done on the shoots I did on Saturday! One down and two to go!

Have a great Monday!

So full of excitement today....!

2.  Only 22 more days till i get to see my lil bro and my mommy for the holidays!! sooo excited about that!

3.  It snowed! Yah i know but it gets me in the holiday mood!

4.  I have THREE photo shoots Saturday and hopefully that will be the end till new years.

5.  I was picked by some very adorable Aussie chillens to have their MOMMY scrap my pictures. This lady happens to be one of my scrapping idols!! I am sooooo very excited about that!!!!

Now that things have settled down a bit

05w My thanksgiving was great! I had so much fun and had a blast with my family! We started around 11 at my Aunts house and ate so much turkey, stuffing and her world famous rolls that we could hardly move! Dessert was even more amazing! Another aunt was in charge of pies and she brought a gazillion. Well maybe not that much but too much. Plus two cheesecakes, and two cakes. Amazing spread. We then played Catchphrase and Scatagories then a game called zilch. All in all it was fantastic! Then off to my Step brothers house then back to my fathers house for a movie!

Yes I did I went shopping on black Friday. it was not an unpleasant trip though. Didn't really buy to much but got a start. The lines we hit were not too bad and neither were the people shopping. Very friendly cashiers and even friendly shoppers!

How was your thanksgiving?

Father is doing well!

Well my dad is feeling MUCH better. He was discharged Saturday afternoon with a clean bill of health on his heart. Now he has to visit regular Dr's to see what is wrong with him. Hopefully its something simple that can be fixed. Thanks to all of those who called with concern and with prayers!

Friday, November 24, 2006

Please pray

My dad is in the hospital. He was admitted this afternoon for observation. We are not sure what is wrong but with his heart I am so worried. If you could say a few prayers for him I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Help me choose!

friday

Getting off regular work early today. I have a Sr shoot at three and I am so excited. This girl is beautiful and has fantastic blond hair. Her mom used to own the daycare my children used to go to so it should be a little more relaxing for this sweet chic. She says she likes pink and I told her to go for it! We are going to do several sessions because with the time change and winter coming on light is scarce. I hope I do ok today! maybe if you have a sec ask for a little inspiration from the man above? Wanna know something? The shoots I do after a long prayer session asking for inspiration go sooo good. I have shoots that I absolutely feel so inspired with/by, and others I could just bury in the back yard beacause I didn't like them. Inspiration. Notice the word in the middle "spirit". God gave me this talent and its because of him I can do it. Thank you.

had to get this down before I forgot!

011w Taylor has conveniently forgotten his homework folder for a few days now. So today when he comes to work and empties his folder he tells me that his teacher had to clean out his messy desk while he was out to recess and all it is is old papers. I don't even need to look. Well its a good thing I did. In between all the "junk" i find 4 nice homework papers ready to be filled out. Waiting for him to pick up his pencil and go to town. Well this is the conversation that played out after I gave him the papers.

Taylor: I hate homework sooo much! its so very stupid. So stupid I can't even stop!

Mom: Laughing Laughing and more laughing. (perhaps I shouldn't have)

Taylor: I am serious!!! (pounding fists on desk)

Mom: i know honey (laughing and trying not to pee)

Taylor: I really am serious! Homework is so stupid and I am not your monkey anymore (hides under desk)

mom: running from room to hide behind door and snicker like crazy.

I love that boy. oh, and he is doing his homework perfectly content at this very moment. So I don't think I have ruined him for life.........................have i?

Here's some more!

Been kinda busy so I didn't have time to scan some more but now I am sitting here listening to the boys watch cars and I am sharing some more layouts with you!

The first one I LOVE! I don't really know why. I got the sketch off a page on two peas but don't remember which one. LOVE the picture. Maybe thats why?

Loved

This second one was quick and easy and I pretty much let the pictures tell the story!

Fall

I have gotten done with a bit of my Christmas shopping done and ideas for most of the rest! I LOVE Christmas. Can't wait till I am aloud to put up the tree LOL.....

Here's another one and a few fun purchases!

I did this one of Taylor with a recent photo. Its so hard to get a photo of him these days!

I forgot to tell you all what I got right before I left for the retreat! My old trimmer has had it. Its bent and wont cut straight so i decided to get this! I used it all weekend and I LOVE It! I am so excited to have this! cuts like butta I tell yas! So sharp and so smooth! I kept telling everyone how much I was in love with it, too much I think. Any who look into it if you are thinking of getting a new trimmer. And today I got this!

A

My  friend Cindy has one and brought it to the retreat! I have been eying the AMM tool caddy but didn't want to pay the price. She showed me here and it has a ton more room than those and is a TON cheaper!! I already took all my stuff out of my cropper hopper Flat pack and put it in there with more room to spare! soo happy with this! You can get them at Michael's. They are normally 19.99 but if you have a 40% you are stealing it! Well not really but you get the idea!

Have a great TUESDAY everyone!

It is a steel cookie sheet I picked up at walmart. I used MM paper, and stickers, and also sweet water paper. the squares are really strong magnets I got at walmart and they will be put on the back and then moved to the front as the days go by!

Not really wanting to be but here I am! LOL. The retreat was FANTASTIC! I had sooo much fun! Wednesday, November 1, 2006

Sorry

been so busy with the retreat I have completely neglected the old blog. Have been stressing a bit trying to get so much done and this would be the last day to do it all. I have pretty much all the retreat stuff done. have to pick up a bit more food at walmart tonight and some paper on my lunch hour but thats it. My stress is actually layouts and projects to bring! Nothing like waiting till the last minute to do that! I always tell myself that I should plan pages all the time and just have them waiting so that I know I will have something to work on without having to plan them all at the last minute. I do have to pack too. lol clothes even. I am so excited to get away!!! to leave the world of normal people behind and just hang with the overly obsessed scrappbooking goddesses I have come to love. Unnatural as it may be to the outsider looking in, it is soooo natural be obsessive over paper and pens...really... giggle.

So I will not be posting for a while (but so what, your used to it!) have a great weekend everyone!

BOO

OK tonight was our schools carnival. I have to tell you I am very disappointed. The games were very easy and no fun for any one over the age of three really. Even Taylor was a little bored. The best thing they had and the only thing people seemed to be going to was the spook alley. Chris went through once and wouldn't go back in and Taylor FREAKED out and wouldn't even go with me! LOL....BUT they sure did look COOL in their costumes!

So wayyyy to early for this!

So the little bit of snow we got yesterday (then melted) was enough to thoroughly put me in the Christmas spirit. Even though my boys are gone to the ex's this year I am soooo looking forward to it! I get to spend Christmas with my mom for the first time since the year I was married. Over ten years ago. It seems longer than that actually. I can't wait to decorate the tree, do some last minute shopping at the mall, and see my brother and new sister in law. I wanna bake while I am there too. Fix something that everyone will eat instead of making a whole dinner for two boys who say OOOOHhh gross the minute I put it on the table. AHHHHH And the rest......sleeping in...(maybe), and walks with my mom and her doggy. CANT WAIT....so anyway.........

I have already started my shopping. Mostly on line because I am convinced thats the way to go now. Either that or I have to charge my way through the department stores only to find that the perfect gift I was looking for is gone. Whats funny is I know pretty much what I am getting everyone, except for my kids. Wouldn't it be nice if all they wanted was one of my prints with a big red bow on it? Hmmmm bet that wouldn't go over. Speaking of prints....you can look on my photo blog for some 'art' prints if any of you want some.

So if you are in the Christmas spirit and want to start shopping for me I will make it easy on you!! lol...i usually get asked by multiple people what it is I want for Christmas and I can never tell them... i NEVER remember LOL....so here it is....my list....

Tablecloths to go on my new 52x52 square table.

i desperately need new pot holders

Cookie Jar

Tea pot (just melted my old one!)

Unfinished wood shelves so I can paint them for picture frame landings

Black picture frames of ANY size

Money towards a new lens

Straight jacket

Mattress pad

tools (seriously)

A padded butt cushion that I can take with me to crops! LOL  really need that one.....

hmmmm thats about all I can remember OHHHH

GC to Barnes an noble would be a great one. LOVE their art/photography section!

So there it is folks....not wanting to seem greedy or pushy but if anyone asks this is all their gonna get!

Tried a new technique in photo shop. This pic made me very angry but I still love it. I have tried for a long time to get fun pics of my children smiling and swinging the THIS is the closest I have gotten. Most of them are just feet swishing by the camera or the tops of their heads as they head back the other way. This was composed almost perfect, but dang it all the camera focused on the SEAT...yes the ugly blue seat. But somehow this "color action" has given me peace! Love the color on this! It was fun! May try it on a few clients.

Chris_neww_2

Actually got to scrap last night. There is a challenge contest at the Monkeys and I finished mine! With the retreat next week that is ALL I have been working on! Felt good to play! LOL.... Paper is Diane's Daughter, Used tripes of it to create the pleat on the side of the pic then stitched through it. It's hard to see in the scan but its VERY dimensional!

Spent some time in the leaves!

What a great fall this has been! Pretty mild weather, our leaves actually fell, and the colors have been magnificent. We don't have a tree in our yard ( i know weird huh) so we have to borrow Papa's trees for our fall leaves! They have SUCH a blast playing in them that I think I will have to plant trees soon!

FUN!

Had a fun weekend even though some plans got messed up! Went to the Harvest Fest on Saturday after a fun soccer game and ate funnel cakes, burgers and home made potato chips. I do have pics but they are on my home comp so maybe I will show you those tomorrow. Sunday I had a photo shoot and got tons of scrap stuff done. Don't have photos of that either. I do however have a photo of my new desk friends. I got them in the mail today from my mommy! LOVE YOU! I named them Melvin and Horace. Are they not cute! They have been so nice to me all day. Horace likes my shirt and Melvin says I'm cute......

But most times your the bug....

This is not the picture I wanted to show you today but this is what you are getting. I pulled off my favorite fall road to take a picture of the beautiful leaves on the ground with the orange and red trees hanging over the dark concrete. But instead I got this. mostly because my kids started screaming as soon as they saw it. Wish I have gotten a better picture of it. Dang wish I had gotten a better picture of the leaves.

So today is columbus day...

Want to know why i had no idea? Because I didn't discover America myself. Also for got to talk the boss into closing today. We have NADA phone calls today cuz well people think we are closed. All the other agents are closed today lol....we decided to close early. Not like I am doing anything anyway. So what should I do in my free time. Go home and scrap till the kids get out at 3? Go to the local scrapbook store and see what goodies they have I can't afford to buy? Go home and do ironing while watching Days of our lives? Any ideas?

Didn't do any scrapping this weekend. Did however try a few designs out for Christmas cards and didn't like any of them. I have one more idea that I will try. Want to get started on them to get them finished!

Getting a new camera

Canon My canon a95 is my best friend. We have been through a lot together. It was my training for bigger and better things. It brought me into the digital world with a pat on the butt and a big squeeze. It has however taken its last picture...for me anyways. The lens will not retract. Canon can fix it but it will cost anywhere from 89.00 to 175.00 bucks. They won't know for sure till they can evaluate it. I could either take it to a authorized dealer in ILLINOIS, or send it in. Or there is option 2 They send me a a610 for 125 dollars and i send my broken baby back (hmmm doesn't that phrase sound like a Justin Timberlake song?) for a trade. Not bad in my opinion. I think I will do that.....oh wait already did. My new best friend is in the mail. I will get it Thursday. So long old friend. Hello new and improved. Of course this means I will have to make a page about it! LOL.....

I forgot to Update! LOL. Been really busy at home and a work. i have pics I want to share, things that have happened but not one thing really sticks out as a blog worthy topic. so this is what you get today. Boring Boring Boring. Every day life of me.

Saturday Taylor had a soccer game and they one by one point, well the only point. Guess who made that score? YES my Taylor. NO pride here, really. Then it was off to my Dad's garage sale to help out. He did very well but still has a ton left so he may have another one this weekend. Then it was home to clean house, which didn't get completely finished but enough. Sunday afternoon my kids and I met up with the Hansens and we headed up to the wilderness to try to get some Autumn shots of my family for Christmas cards. I haven't even finished proofing so I can't show you any! LOL. Sorry...maybe tomorrow!

Well that is IT. Boring right? Told ya so.

Rain Rain please please stay

I am loving the rain. We finally got some rain today with tomorrow being over cast. I hate when its over cast and the sky is too lazy to rain. I love it when it actually does rain. I love the cozy feeling I get while being inside while the water runs down the windows. Wanting to curl up with a good book and not feeling guilty cuz I should be out doing yard work. Rain is the best excuse NOT to mow the lawn. I got stuff to make stew at the store last night and can't to sit at the dinner table with my kids and a warm bowl of yummyness and warm buttered rolls.

Trip to Boise

Had a ton of fun this weekend in Boise. Had a little bit of trouble with Taylor's allergies but other than that a BLAST. Spent WAY to much money, but got some cool new Scrap Product. I was going to take a pic of it all but I forgot and put it all away! ACK....but I do have some other pics!

This is Chris at the Idaho Discovery Center. Fantastic place for kids and parents to learn all about science and the way things work. This experiment got the better of him. Its about centrifical (sp?) force and right after I took this pic he went wild and fell. Bad...

This is Taylor on a Chair he lifted all by himself. It uses the Pulley system and he really thought it was cool!

After the discovery center we walked over the canal to the playground and the let the boys play a bit. Great photos opp for me too. The pic of me and my friend Sarah Taylor took!
