Ahhh so here it is...??

Today is the day I am old. Past 30 below 40 but on my way up the ladder. Today is my birthday. I don't really feel that old, but other people are starting to feel much younger to me. Torrie spelling, Jessica Simpson, and what about Miley Cyrus. She's a baby!! And tell me when did the people staring in sitcoms become such kids? Dang....

I had a weird dream last night. Me being the huge contest enterer (is that a word?) won a fabulous week with Mick Jagger. Yeah can you believe it, ME? The fabulous week included him living in my home with my family and helping me do yard work. We became fast chums, and even watch girlie movies (no NOT porn) while propped up on my bed. Only thing missing was nail polish and prank phone calls. Of course my mother finally realized that MICK FREAKING JAGGER was in my home so it was all I could do to save him. She kept acting like a giddy school girl. Really mother show some restraint why don't you. He even gave a concert in my back yard and I was in charge of making sure he had lemon in his water during songs. Ahh the life of a star....All in all he seemed to be a pretty normal all around nice type of guy. Younger too. In my mind he was about 35 ish...hmmmm....

In commemoration (or just because I want to) of my being really old, I have added a new play list to reflect the music of the the year of my birth. These songs were ALL popular and playing the year my mother looked at me for the first time! (hi mom). She sent me the nicest email this morning about my first day here on earth. made me cry. OK back to the music. As I listened to these songs, some made me gag, some made me smile, some I was actually surprised they were from 1976. Some were just realllllllyyyyy dumb. I mean come on....Disco Duck? What the heck? Some songs were just as raunchy as the songs that are on the radio today. Ew....some songs were CLASSICS....some I just liked.... So enjoy.

SO far a GREAT weekend!!!

As I type this there are clouds in the sky and no breeze. I LOVE days like this. Where you have had 85 to 90 degree weather for a while and then you get a calm day like this. I have the windows open and it feels so good and cool!

Friday night I had my Mother in law in town so she came over and my friend Heather came over for some snacks and scrapping. I really wasn't very productive. I did a card set for a swap, and one layout. Thats it. For about 4 hours all I really did was talk!! It was fun though. And wonderful to see LOIS!! LOVE YA!

Well yesterday was clean up and some laundry but i had the scrapping bug so I threw together some more layouts!!

what a summer already

Howdy strangers. Been a heck of summer already! Wind, rain, hail, and even some snow last week. It's now up the 80s and beautiful so hopefully that is all behind us. i have TWO tomatoes on one of my plants and most of my herbs have popped up out of the ground so I am happy about that. I still have no lawn but no rush because heck it freaking snowed last week.

My son lost  his brand new pair of glasses last night at scouts. We looked EVERYWHERE for them. My friends husband is a scout leader and he even looked after we did. They called all of the scouts that were there to see if maybe someone picked them up by mistake but so far nothing. They are going to email and announce the lost glasses and see if they can be found. He is heart broken. He cried for almost 2 hours last night after we got home. He would calm down and then just burst into tears periodically. We are going to wait a few weeks to see if they are found then call his eye doctor and see what can be done. Here is to hoping the insurance will pay for another pair. If not there is NO way I can afford to get new ones for him right now.

My computer at work got a HUGE virus last week. I worked on it Thursday afternoon Friday and all day Monday and had to give up. Heather's hubby said he would take a look at it. I am using a computer from another desk that is hardly used and has virtually (all pun intended) no ram. I get three windows up and it starts freaking out on me. Its been interesting. Meanwhile I have NONE of my blog links to look at!! giggle....what oh what will I do without them?

Well i hope your week is going well, and if you find any gold rimmed glasses let me know......

recent work for KNK!!!

This months kit was totally rocking....But to be honest I didn't have any photos that would really go with it. I borrowed some of my friend Heather's photos. It hasn't really been summer here yet so alas I had no water splashing, ice cream eating etc.

This is Heathers girl. The photos are ones I took for her Sr. photos in April.....

Fresh

This one is of her little boy splashing in the back yard. There is no journal on the journal strip because I will let her do that.

total genius....

I think anyway.

During the summer teachers recommend that students continue to read so that when they head back in the fall their Accelerated reader levels are where they should be. I have two boys that I really have to beg to read unless they have to. I hate have to reading. I totally agree they should read but its so hard for me to understand why they don't enjoy it as much as I do. I could sit for hours and read, even at their ages. So this summer we have come up with our own point system. To encourage chapter reading each kid will earn five points for each chapter. When they reach 150 points they get to pick from the prize box (yet to be done) and start all over again. So far both of my kids are LOVING this system. Taylor alone today has earned 90 points!! Chris is right behind him. Guess I should get myself moving on the prize box!!
