Dec 14th

Sad day. We gave Scout back to his foster mom. He and sparky just could not mesh well together and Scout figured out how to jump the fence. Taylor was heart broken (scout was going to be his dog) I told him Sparky has been our dog for years and he gets first choice. He will have another chance to have his own dog. Still didn't make me feel better. Scout was such a LOVING pup!

Wonderful day at home. Baked cookies, took walks in the snow, played outside with the dogs and I worked on our Christmas cards!

The day I wish really never happened. I took the boys shopping at the mall and Taylor spent his hard earned money on me and someone stole the gift! My baby was so heartbroken. The mall cops were even on the case. After that we met Kendra, Shallee and Heather at Red robin for lunch. YUMMM. Kendra had never eaten there. Then unfortunately we went to Pet co while Chris went into Toys r us to get Bugs gift. We left with a DOG. WHAT WAS I THINKING.

Christmas music is a must for me during the holiday. I found two new Cd's to listen to! a new christmas Harry Conick jr and an oldie but goodie on cd. Bing crosby! the cd is actually a the same as a record i have stashed in my closet! At least now I can listen to it! It has my favorite all time Christmas song on it. Melecalicimaca! (sp?)

LaRee and Darla got our Office Christmas tree up. Its about to fall apart. Last year my father and I had to duct tape the base together just to keep it upright. We use colorful decorations on our work tree well....because I want to!

Bitter cold today. Its getting to the point this week that I am using more gas keeping my car warm than for actual driving. I have been taking the kids to school because in my opinion its too cold to stand and the bus stop for too long. Brrr....is winter over yet?

Dec 7

Today was an ordinary monday. Work, home, and helping bug with homework. He seemed to have more than normal this nigh so we spent most of the evening at the kitchen table.

Worked all day on a christmas gift! Can not share any more on the blog!

I was up by 7 wanting to get the cake done. I was totally worried I wouldn't have enough fondant for the strips and polka dots. I had some learning experiences and needed the boys help here and there but I go it done!! LOVE how it turned out! Wish the fondant was a little smoother but all in all I think its pretty good!

Darla came back over tonight to work on some more of her Christmas project. Tiff and Micheal came with her and later her oldest son Chris showed up with treats! My Chris was sick in bed and missed the whole thing. I butter-creamed all three layers of the baby shower cake and fondant them for decoration tomorrow morning.

Darla came over tonight to start a Christmas project. She need to borrow my sewing machine. I helped her do some while baking the cake for the cake I am making for Darla's friends baby shower. It will be three tiered and I hope it turns out ok!

Today LaRee and I tried a new coffee house in town for lunch. They had a special on a Southwestern chicken sandwich that was really yummy. I also got a peppermint mocha coffee that was so smooth. Definitely found a new favorite place to get my coffee! AND its on my way to work in the mornings!

December 1

I was going to post this last night but just too tired. I have decided I am going to post what I want to scrap in my december daily album, just in case I fall behind. It will be easier to know exactly what I want in there and can take the journaling right from my blog.  It might be boring for ya so i am just warning you!

Today Lois came to Idaho Falls because she has meetings tomorrow for Columbia Electric. We picked her up from her hotel and she took us to dinner at Olive Garden. We had a wonderful dinner and our conversation consisted of Elvis, math, and Thanksgiving. After dinner we headed to the mall and did a little Christmas shopping. The boys already had some money from their Grandpa Gibbons so they HAD to spend it. Taylor got the Lightning thief in paper back and a Chargers wallet. Chris bought some pokemon cards when he and Grandma ran into walmart. We took Lois back to the house and showed her our trees. I love getting time to spend with Lois. She is such a wonderful woman and actually one of my personal heroes!

brand new day

I woke up this morning refreshed! I know that sounds dorky but the night before I had only slept a total of about 4 hours. Couldn't sleep. Watched a christmas movie, soaked in a hot tub, read a book. Just could not sleep for some reason. That really hardly EVER happens to me. I usually can sleep just fine, most of the time I don't even get up to pee. tmi sorry.

Today is DECEMBER 1st! Where did that come from? I mean really. This year has gone by super fast. Guess that being in a complete fog for most of it will do that to you. I put together a december daily book like ali did and can not wait to get started! Its a book journaling your day to day of december till Christmas day. Today I get to start it! This is the cover. It's not a great photo because its off my phone but you get the gist. I used the new BG christmas paper and LOVE It!!! I will show more when I can of it.

December album

We have our decorations up. Most of them. Enough to make me happy, and put the rest back in the shed. Even though I am looking forward to Christmas its still going to be hard and don't want to have to put all that back and be even more depressed. I am also almost done shopping! Just need a few more things then I am DONE! Phew!

How is YOUR december first going?

thankfull

This thankful post is way past due. Way past. My aunt did pass away last week. The 24th to be exact. She fought and we all thought she would get better, not perfect but there was hope. She passed away suddenly tuesday morning. Our family decided to have thanksgiving dinner anyway. We have always had thanksgiving at her house. Its been that way since before i was born I think. Her son's and hubby decided we would do it there to honor her because that's what she would have wanted. We actually had fun. I cried all the way there feeling awfully sorry for myself and for my cousins. We all were missing our passed parent on this first Thanksgiving without them. My uncle gave a short speech and prayer before eating thanking God, and us for such a wonderful family. I do have a wonderful family. We are close, we love each other and help each other as much as possible. My grandmother is 91 years old. her GREAT GREAT grand baby was there and we made sure we got the photo op. I forgot my camera so I am hoping my cousin will email her shots she got.

Since I really can dwell on what I am NOT thankful for I am deciding to list what I am most thankful for.

1. My God. He is amazing and while have never been a preachy christian I believe in him whole heartedly and thank him for all my amazing blessings.

2. my kids. Gosh I love them.

3. my family, the crazy ones too.

4. My mother who is there for me when I need her, she being one of the crazy ones.

5. my friends who care for me as much as my family does.

6. my job. thank you GOD and my father for leaving me this business. (any one need life insurance, plug plug?)

7. my home. It took a lot of saving and hard work but I have my home and I love going home to it every night.

So there, I am thankful.

stressed

It's November 21st. Just a little over a month till the anniversary of my Father's death. My aunt (his younger sisiter) is in the hospital. Has been there since Monday. Things are not looking well. I am not sure if my Grandma can handle losing anther child. At 91 years old she should not have to go through this at all, much less TWO! And my poor uncle. He loves her so much. I feel for my cousins and her grandchildren. There has been too much death in our family over the last couple years. Always around the holidays. If you are so inclined I would appreciate any prayers you can spare!

i have been missing....my brain.

Sorry guys I have been so busy lately, just have not had the time or energy to post!

At the beginning of November I had the opportunity to head to Seattle to not only visit my bff but to go to a Creating Keepsakes convention with her! It was so much fun and too quick! The classes were fun and i got a lot out of them. I am not completely done with all the layouts but here is one I did finish, well almost, still needs a title and some journaling. This was in the photos first class. I loved this class because I love photos!

1 step forward, 12 steps back

observations

1. Sick kids are never fun. Not fun for me and definitely not fun for them. Bug was sick last week and ended up staying home Wednesday, Thursday and he came to work with me Friday. By Sunday he was feeling much better and he went to school Monday and Tuesday. He woke up this morning with MAJOR nose issues and coughing like no other. I am taking him to the dr. I don't think he has the swine flu or anything but something is infected in his body and he needs some medical help to get him through it. Poor kids hope he gets better before trick or treating!

2. I am at my most craftiness when I am work. I get great ideas the mo jo, and then I get home and get lazy. Its too easy to sit and watch tv rather than get paperific. Although last night I did make some Halloween cads!

3. I am currently very proud of myself for my long nails. I have a horrible nail biting habit that I am really trying hard to break. So far I am doin ok! my nails are not extremely long, thats just not me, but cute and and taken care of.

4. I don't spend enough time on my blog. I seriously have just completely forgotten about it most of the time. I either facebook a bit or just don't have time! sorry blog folk!

5. I love the women I work with.

6. Do not like the fact that my boys are growing up faster than I expected.

7. I don't like Halloween. I love fall, love the colors and smells and the pumpkin pie, do not like the creepy scary part of fall.

heaven sent, but didn't know it at the time.

Today was running a tad late. Really.....only a tad. It was almost 9 so I wasn't late for work YET. As I rounded the corner to head to the bridge across the freeway i was met with flashing lights and a sign saying road closed! I hate when they work on that bridge! they don't give you enough warning so you can turn around! You don't see it till its too late. So I ended up being REALLY late for work. Not so much because of the bridge, but because the detour took me right past Starbucks. My best friend today is a grande white chocolate maccchiato with a double shot of espresso. I realllllllyyyy needed that this morning. Thank you God for closing the bridge.

Interview with a vampire

Me: Edward if Bella were to leave you for Jacob would you consider dating another mortal?

Edward: yes of course!

Me: Would you ever consider dating an older woman, say with kids?

Edward: Kids are yummy

Me: Would you keep me as I am so that I grow older and older, or bite me and keep me old and haggard for the rest of my life. (cuz we all know I am so past 18)

Edward: just how old are you?

smelly....

IMG_6458web

When my kids were little my favorite thing to do was give them a bath. I would lather them all up with soap and blow bubbles at them and listen to them giggle. Their little fingers would get all wrinkly and there skin would be so clean it would squeak.

Ok maybe not squeak but  you get the picture. Clean happy babies.

You want to know why I loved giving them baths?  The real reason?

I love the smell of johnson and johnson's baby shampoo. It's the best freaking smell in the world. Want to know what my boys smell like now? Dirt, girl cooties, dog, wet socks, sweat and the bus. They just have this weird odor the older they get. No matter what kind of shampoo I buy them, or even the manly deodorant, they all sort of stink at the end of the day. It's puberty right? Or is it just cuz their boys?

IMG_6426web

I am pretty sure I have the solution. I have found my next favorite smell on my boys. The smell of Hollister. Yes the smell of hollister, and good news!!!! You don't have to keep buying shirts from the mall, and not washing them! I say not washing them because before school started all of the shirts in chris's closet that came from Hollister  were unworn. I would stop and take a deep sniff when I was in there. I had plans to hold off on washing them just to keep the wonderful fragrance, but guess what!!??? It comes in spray form! That way I can spray them in secret as they run out the door to school. I can sniff them allllll I want when I hold them close. AND, I can wash their shirts..................

No matter how stinky they may be they are still adorable, and aliens.

weekend creative

This past weekend brought sniffles, fevers, and lack of appetite. Again not from me but from my little one. I spent most of saturday waiting on him hand and foot. SUNDAY he felt better and since my house was clean (i scrubbed in-between whining) I actually got creative on sunday!

It started with cards

IMG00136

sorry about the quality of picture. These were taken on my cell

then it was this adorable purse I learned how to make at cupcakescreations.blogspot.com. If you click on the March archives she has instructions AND a video. I even made small versions for candy holders for Halloween!

IMG00140

Then I messed around with my new cricut cartridge I got! Its the new woodland winter. So much fun. THere are three d houses you can cut out and put together. We all made one for Halloween!

IMG00137

It was great to be creative, and the juices flowing. Didn't touch a single photo! lol

Lonely Snowman

edited: THis is NOT in my yard right now. I just needed a blogging topic and had this lonely picture on my laptop!

This is the back of the lonely snowman. My children attempted to make a huge snowman. Their goal was to make it 6 feet tall. I think he ended up being about 2 feet. Winters here are sad. We had a lot of powder here and then it would melt just a little to make the snow we already had hard as a rock. They were outside for about an hour making this poor guy. But don't worry, the dog warmed up the lonely snowman by peeing on him.

Snowmanweb

I absolutely love fall. I love the colors, the crisp air, the somewhat warm afternoons, the smell of candy corn. I am not a huge halloween fan, but fall just feels fantastic. What I don't like is winter. Too freaking cold. You have to shovel snow every day, maybe even a couple times a day. NOT looking forward to a another hard winter like we have had the last couple years. That's why you only see the BACK of this snowman. Its the only angle i could get THROUGH the living room window. No way I was going out to take a picture of the FRONT!

cross country

My oldest son is on his jr high cross country team. He was asked to join by a friend because they needed more people. He wanted to quit after the first practice. The coach told him to give it a week and see how he felt after that. After some drama trauma he had his first meet. Although he didn't come in first he didn't come in last either. I was just proud he finished! He did NOT quit, even after several attempts to do so. He missed the second meet because he was sick but he just did his third on Friday. I didn't get to go because my other kid was home sick. There were a lot more school there and 100s of runners but he did ok! I am so glad he is sticking with this and not giving up!

you give me fever

Ok not really.

Taylor has a fever. I took full advantage of his staying home from school today. I love the fact that my scrap area is in the family room. So while he dosed and watched tv on the couch, I scrapped!

This layout was for a challenge.

did you know

did you know cartoon network is as annoying on friday morning as it is on saturday morning.

Did you know that carnival rides named the vomit comet are more popular.

Did you know that sick kids are miserable and so are their parents.

Did you know that I just wanna scrap and leave housework behind.

Did you know that I am sooooo proud of my oldest for sticking with his cross country track!?

Did you know I am horribly upset that I will miss his meet today!?

Did you know that I worry constantly?

Did you know that I love my friend Sarah? In the sisterly sense.

Did you know that my legs are sore from working out so much over the last couple days?

Did you know that I really feel my life is boring and therefore I have nothing to blog about?

First day of school....

Summer is over. My youngest is miserable about it. My oldest is excited. Today I sent them to the bus stop with kisses and hugs and a 'are you sure you don't want mommy to drive you today?'. They were both firm. They wanted to ride the bus. They wanted to pack their own lunches and they did NOT in no uncertain terms want me to write love notes on their lunch napkins. I am lucky I got pictures!

Layout challenge

I received a challenge from a friend to use up letter stickers. I did use up letter stickers. I wanted to use all the puffy thickers for the title but they just do not give you enough in the package. I used some old ac stickers to fill in the rest of the title!
