Wanting to scrap......

ever just sit in front of your workspace and WANT to scrap but CANT? I have had that trouble this week. got my room back to a "scrap" state and just want to create, i have things I NEED to create but just can't t seem to pluck up the courage to DO it....ugh.

So family reunion is this weekend. Should be fun. Looking forward to the wilderness and a chance to work on some landscape  photos.....I suck at landscapes.

oh AND one of my dearest friends (the one I have had for 22 years.......holy crap....I am old enough to have a friend that long?) Is coming to town for her HS reunion and before I leave town for the reunion on friday we are going to run over to a park after I get off work and take a couple shots! Excited to practice on someone new.

Nummies!!

My very dear friend (of 22 years!) sent me a TERRIFIC bday present. TONS of paper, TONS of AC ribbon (my fav) and this ADORABLE little fold out "mini album". Its just to dang adorable not to show you! Both fold out to reveal places to put pictures. TOO cute....definitely going to have to scrap lift this one!

And my darling friend Darla made me THIS. Inside was some adorable ribbon and a sassafras stamp!!

I got a TON done this weekend! Four 12x12 layouts, 8 cards, helped with four mini books, did most of my brothers wedding album AND went shopping!! Here are some of the projects! The mini books were sooo much fun...look like a purse when its all finished. We made four of them assembly line style and it still took forever. They are friendship themed so I am going to use my "friends" from cku to fill it. The cards are for the card swap I am in. July's theme is Christmas so I got a head start using some of my mil's supplies!! LOL.....

The magnetic board above was what I made for my mother-in-law for her bday. The boards are from Roberts and the paper is Scenic Route (my fav) Had a BLAST making it and she seemed to love it! She's a major scrapper so its nice to have someone appreciate the work you put into something like this! I will try to post some of the layouts I did later!

Well here it is....she styled it for me cuz i had to get back to work but it looked way better just wet than what I had!!! Will be great for a quick blow dry and some wax! the back is much shorter so I can go more funky if I want with some Material Texture....Love that stuff!

hair cut

Getting my hair cut today. Tired of dealing with the bad one I recieved about a month ago. Frustrated with it. Its cut so badly, uneven on the sides by and INCH! Wish me luck that this one will be better.....

Lots to say...stuff rushing through my head!

First....almost done with my room. Still not picture worthy but thought i would post the cubes I put in my closet. The closet once had a computer desk in it. I got them at Fred Meyer and they are just closet organizers with two cubes per shelf thingy. They measure about 14 x 14. Perfect for albums and paper storage. I got the cute red baskets at Freddie's too. They are 12 x 12 and have my stamp sets in them. Still a little disorganized, I need to purge more magazines than i thought...sniff sniff...

Second....bought myself a Birthday present. Yeah I am going to be THIRTY ( holy crap) on Sunday. I don't have a hubby to buy me anything (like having one would make a difference) so I bought myself a WANT not a need! So into this show its freaky. Never watched it on TV. Heard what everyone was saying about it, heck even my dad watches it religiously. So I net-flixed it and I am HOOKED! HOOKED I tell ya!! So guess what I did!! LOL. Yep bought the whole dang season. It is my new scrap booking show. I have those...do you? A movie or show you love to put in while you are scrapping? One that you can listen to and know exactly what is going on? I have a couple Little women, 50 first dates, and pirates of the Caribbean. They are in my scrap room and watched frequently.

Third...my porch is filled with flowers! I love them! my boys picked them out for my birthday before they left and helped me plant them. Here are a few! It also reminds me of and makes me feel closer to my mommy.....

She has all these fantastic pots with plants and flowers falling down the sides, like wonderful cascades of beauty. Her back porch is so calm and peaceful and inviting. Totally love sitting on her Adirondack chairs and sipping tea with her. I usually get to visit her every summer but money just wouldn't permit it this year. I am however going at Christmas!! Yeah!

Fourth...found this pic on my camera. forgot I had taken it!! Miss them so much right now! But really enjoying my evenings to finish my scrap room. So far they have called me every day, sometimes twice. They HAVE gotten to ride on the motorcycle, they HAVE shopped for bread, and they HAVE watched monster truck shows with their Dad. They have NOT got swimming...lol

Long Haul.....

Oh goodness what HAVE I gotten myself into? Most of my stuff is STILL in the living room BUT I have got all the main furniture in and just a tiny mess on my desk from stuff I pulled out from UNDER my work spaces...yes work spaces. This SMALL room had 4 desks in it! two four foot laminate tables one four foot wood table and one computer desk. It felt so small in here. I have taken out one 4 foot laminate table and gave my computer desk to Darla. MUCHO more room in here. I can see the floor too! Put my main work desk under my window to so I can see when the boys are playing outside and the for the day light. My comp will be RIGHT next to me on one of the four foot tables. It will make it nice when I am chatting and scrapping at the same time. I got more cubes yesterday to put in my closet and even some cute red baskets (they are more like cubes) that fit perfectly in the organization cubes. I am putting my stamp sets in those and getting rid of my tall iris cart that really was not serving any purpose... Now its going to all the crap in the living room and sorting and garb-aging. Do you think it would be horrid to throw out all my scrap and start over? My old scrap storage was a one metal target cube overflowing with scraps. I cleaned out a two draw filing cabinet that fit under my table for scraps now. Is it sacrilege to just start over? Maybe just pick out the scraps I WILL use and not the ones I MAY use? I never knew I had THIS much junk!!!  ACK......I am going back in! See y'all later!

Clean sweep and some other things

I have picked today of all days to start the clean sweep of my scrap room...course that's probably the LAST place I should start!! LOL Everything is unorganized I have supplies I NEED to get rid of. Moving out a computer desk (keeping the puter), using the space in my closet more effectively, getting rid of TWO large iris carts (hopefully) purging magazines, sorting paper scraps (BIG need to do) re-arranging working space and even sorting embelies, stickers, ect....may take me two weeks but I am GONNA do it....I was going to take a pic of the before but I am toooo dang embarrassed. I WILL however post afters. I have half the room already moved out to the living room so its actually looking better already. Course you cant see my living room floor any more. ANOTHER reason I started this is because when I got home from the crop last night there were two large boxes on my front porch from CROPPER HOPPER!!! I got one vertical storage box with the dividers, TWO storage cubes, a new flat pack (really excited about that) and a ROLLING cart!! It will work perfect in my new room! Well my newly cleaned out room! LOL....All the supplies I purge are going in MARKED boxes and put in the shed for the next garage sale at my LSS. The last one they had went like gang busters! One lady got 500 bucks in store credit...gee I think I could spend that! So wish me luck ya'll!

I finished four pages and four cards last night at the crop. For a crop that was good for me! Really. I want to scan and share but alas my printer is already unhooked for the over haul. As soon as i get it hooked back up I will scan them.

Right now I have to run to the shower and get ready for some fun with the ladies! Post more later!

Croppin tonight!

Going to a crop at my lss with a friend. Got about 6 layouts all planned and sketched and packed for. At cku this year I won a really cool page planner file holder thingy from cropper hopper along with a 100 gift certificate. I have yet to get that in the mail but hopefully soon. Any who they are awesome to plan pages! Getting excited to get them done! Hopefully I can post some tomorrow.

Saturday I am going to sportsman's Warehouse for a fathers day gift, and then to lunch and a movie with my aunt, cousin and Gloria (step mom). We are going to see Lake House with Sandra Bullock and that cute guy...LOL.

Sunday hopefully a picnic with the dad, maybe a little drive to a mountain destination.

Mini shoot

I am posting this shoot here as well as my Photography blog because its of my boys and their father. They wanted to give him photos of themselves for fathers day , but I suggested we actually take some with their father. So we ran over to a park nearby and took some shots before the thunder and rain started. Not the BEST lighting but we made do! Hope they like them!!!

a day at the dentist

So Taylor lost his tooth.. a cute little baby one on the bottom...haven't even had a chance to take a pic of the hole for his first tooth out layout. We go to the dentist today for my other son's spacer and Taylor pulls out a SECOND tooth..Its been wiggly and about ready for a few days but he chose to do it then. He was so dang proud of himself that he showed EVERY one in the office his tooth. Even ran back behind the doors to the exam rooms...good grief. Darn glad he's cute or he couldn't get away with it. So now I HAVE to make it a point to take his pic of his BIG hole. Two teeth missing side by side on the bottom. LOVE my toothless wonder!

here is how my weekend went!

Blake and Heathers two boys came over Saturday morning to play, I took them all to the Zoo and then on a picnic. After they went home CHRIS finished mowing the lawn. Took like three swipes. I had started it then my mower conked out. Had to borrow my dads to finish it. He did a great job for his first solo time. Course he thinks hes all that now. lol...then I trimmed the whole yard, took forever. My grass was so high along the edges! like up to my waste...yeah its been awhile...then I roundup-ed JUST as the wind started to blow. Got it all over me so I had to take a shower when I was done. Still have more round up to do but got most of the weeds trying to come up between my concrete sidewalk and stuff. Saturday night we had a movie night and ate pizza and watched cheaper by the dozen two. Cute movie.

Sunday we slept in and lounged around and had scones and eggs for Chris's bday breakfast. Then off to see the Disney movie CARS!! LOVED it!! omg cutest kids movie I have seen for awhile. Then we went to wally world (walmart) so Chris could spend part of his bday money (the rest is going into savings) and the boys picked out flowers to give me for my bday since they are going to be gone. We came home and they helped me pot them in my flower pots on the porch, swept the porch cleaned everything on it and it looks FAB! Feels so good to sit on the porch and drink my morning tea before the rest of the world starts moving...all the pretty flowers surrounding me. Then we took Chris to Sonic (his choice) for bday dinner then home for cake! We were so tired we were all asleep by 9! All in all a GREAT weekend....even got Peggy's circle journal done!

Its finally over....

Well at least till the end of August. Chris had his last soccer game tonight and Bug's was last night...Both great games with lots of sadness at the end. Both coaches were fantastic this year and Taylor wants to play again this fall so we are going to try to get the same coach. Just glad to have our weeknights and saturdays back!

Creating....

Couldn't go to bed last night without creating something with the left over scenic route paper I used for a project this weekend. LOVED the way it turned out! Didn't have a plan just wend for it! Tag on the right pulls out for more pics!

Had an OK weekend. Taylor had a soccer game Saturday and yet again he won the game...His was the only score. Feels pretty good, maybe to prideful huh? Did three layouts this weekend, and finished Lois's Bday present. Also cleaned house three times. Dang my kids are messy. Contemplated mowing my lawn, still contemplating so i guess I didn't do it.

Chris had a tooth pulled this afternoon. Same tooth Taylor had pulled. Will have a spacer in the exact same spot. Odd.

And what blog entry would be complete without a pic? Well here is one of my friend Heather with a paper THONG. Yes a thong. It was at CKU and her and a partner had to make an outfit out of the new AMM Courtier line. Yes a thong....the back is pretty dang funny too!!

Been a monday all week

I can breath, really I just did..don't believe me? Tough...Been so busy at work I can barley keep up. No slack time really till now. Its kinda nice though. The day goes by faster, soccer games and practice get here quicker then its home to TRY to do some housework and maybe get to bed at a normal time. Haven't been doing that lately either. My house is Really suffering from soccer. Usually its a bit messy with toys and shoes but dang it! Soccer is ALMOST over...really. Maybe my life will get back to normal

Got the stuff to make my Mother in Law's bday gift. Will have a BLAST making it, But gotta clean before I can. My scrap room is SCARY!

Some guy flipped me off at lunch today. Guess he didn't like the fact that I honked at him for turning into my lane...hmmmm....guess I will just have to forgive him for almost killing me.

The boys are staying at my friends house for the first time today. Not worried she is a very capable mother, just worried the kids will walk all over her...not that they would. She called me on my lunch hour cuz she knows I am a worry wart. Every things good, all cool at her home front.

Had some fun with a friend of mine last night. She wanted me to take pics of flowers that her daughters cheer squad had gotten for their coaches bday. Then we typed over the pic so she could make a 4x6 tag book and then had all the flowers put into a huge bouquet at a local florist. Whole thing turned out adorable. Cute huh?
