Kids are off today.

I am staying home with them till about noon, then we will all head to the office so pappa can go to lunch, THEN taking Taylor to the dentist THEN pappa will take them home to his house and I will stay at the office. Sooooo I did a quick page this morning and may even have time to do a few more!

Stacy Julian is my new best friend. She simplified the scrapbook album for me! Over the past year my scrap booking "way" has changed so much. I say way not style, I have not scrapped chronologically in about a year and a half. One photo pages are everywhere and I am scrapping more photos that speak to me than events. Stacy has several albums. One for a book of us with tabs for each family member, people we love for immediate family and friends, places we go (with tabs for home and near and far tabs) The things we do (everyday life, accomplishments, traditions, sports, and recreation. She also has favorite photos, just because, Halloween, and Christmas. She has let go of the guilty feeling of not being "caught" up on her chronological scrapping. Its even easier to file pics. She said she does not have chronological memories, so why should she have chronological books. This system is going to save me. Every time I have done a photo i JUST took with so much satisfaction I look back at the ones for 2005 I have yet to complete. I am almost done with 2005, so I am changing my ways! I am NOT a chronological scrapper! I just SCRAP! and put it in the correct slot. No I will NOT feel guilty my children do not have 18 books to take with them. Chris already has SIX! I will do a School book for each that they can take and a few special mini books I make for them through the years but that is it! I will once again feel the joy of scrapping!! Not the guilt of things not done! I am SO relieved!

Fuggly Wuggly

I'd like to introduce you to my Fuggly Wuggly.

He keeps me company at work. Likes scintillating conversation, and long walks on the beach. Never talks back and hold a pen in his mouth as long as I want him too. Never a complaint or bad retort. No sure why I have a fuggly wuggly, not really sure what one is. So, now you know each other. Aren't you glad you logged on to my blog?

Lots of little things today

I had one good mommy choice today. Well, at least Taylor's kindergarten teacher said I did. He got a beautiful walking stick from pappa and HAD to take it for show-n-tell. Course it could be a weapon in the hands of a five year old so I took it in for him before the bell and she said I had a made a good mommy choice. Thought about that on the way back to the car. "A good mommy choice"....do I make those all the time. or is it a hit and miss. Is it a good mommy choice to let the kids trash my living room and then fight with them to get it cleaned? Is it a good mommy choice to allow Taylor to sneak into bed with me in the middle of the night? Is it a good choice to put them in soccer knowing that our spring schedule will be EXTREMELY hectic with two different practice schedules, and different game schedule? We make choices everyday. I don't think we know if they were good ones or bad ones for awhile. I hope my choices are the right ones and if they are wrong that I learn from them.

My trunk in my car is clean. This in itself is a miracle! REALLY, just ask my father.

Parent teacher conferences next week. yay.

My dad's cousin has a huge scrapbook store in Kansas! NEVER knew that! I made him a "camping" mini book for father's day last year that he keeps in his motor home. He was on a big family camping trip in Arizona the last few weeks and of course showed it around. She was THRILLED and gave dad her card she has and on line store that is STOCKED! LOTS of product! See her store here. Do you think dad would let me have a week off to see her store? LOL....probably not!!

Saturday ponderings

Why is it when I have looked forward to sleeping in on a Saturday and my kids agree to sleep in to I am the one who wakes up at 6:30 and can't go back to sleep? I laid there for a good 45 minutes which in itself is a miracle. Then the boys were up fighting already. O'well. I have a TON of housecleaning to do and then hopefully I can scrap tomorrow! Maybe even tonight if I have the energy.

Here is a card I did for a swap I am in. It has to be in the mail today! LOL. The card folds up like a flower on the back.

I had a photo shoot on Sunday, but we rescheduled for march because its supposed to be 7 below tomorrow. She wanted it outside! LOL.....A bit cold.

This is the end. Been a horrible week with lots of things out of my control happening. Tired of life at the moment and just glad its almost the weekend. Looking forward to some house cleaning, and maybe some scrapping.

My brand new microdrive crashed. No rhyme or reason, just gone. Cried for a good hour last night (its a mega BUCK thing) and was so upset that some of the wedding shoot I did valentines day was still on it. I did get most of them off though. It is under warrenty and I have to send it to Hitachi and they will send me a new one. So glad.....big sigh of releaf. ]

In other news I did and EGG wash today! YES Danelle an EGG wash!! This was the result. Curly messy hair

a BIRTHDAY Valentine!

My "adopted" mother's birthday is on valentines and Thought I would decorate this empty candy tin and fill it with scraping/stamping embellishments. It just so happens that her last name is Fields! LOL Turned out cute and had lots of fun making it!

Let there be light.....

Stacey Julien had this as a project last week in her on line class. At first I really wasn't sure if I was going to do it. It was to use a self adhesive lamp shade and decorate it. Instead I purchased a self adhesive lampshade on a night light. We have a really odd outlet in our living room its about 4 feet off the floor. It turned out sooo cute that I went back today and got a regular lampshade for the lamp next to my bed! I LOVE it! I used Mellisa Frances paper, two different kinds of ribbon and twill to trim it then some bead trim from wally world on the edge! So happy with it! All in all its a pretty dang simple project. The lampshades are pretty cheap and I got mine a Michael's. They come in ALL sorts of sizes. Well not all but quite a few.

I got my entry in my circle journal done for Monkey chatter!! I should be able to get it out in the mail on Friday or Saturday!!

It merged in my software a little odd but you get the gist!

First I have to tell you how much fun I am having with my new camera! AMAZING! Then I have to tell you about the printer I got yesterday. I had a run of the mill Epson that broke down only about a year and a half after I purchased it. Out of warranty and it would cost more to fix than it was worth. I was ready for a GREAT photo printer but wanted a 3 in one. Worried I would not get as good a quality with my prints with one, I was wary. With some suggestions from some of the ladies at ckmb I looked at quite a few and ended up with this one. Totally in love with it! I have done a few "test" runs and completely loving the result and believe you me I am VERY hard to convince. This is everything I wanted and more!!! Easy to use, over sized scanning bed, easy software to stitch scanned layouts, WONDERFUL resolution on my digi pics AND my printed/scanned pics. It also scans FILM. Haven't tried that yet but I did do a layout today using the printer!! Hope you like it!

No matter how hard I tried on my little digi I could never do this. On my film slr it was a piece of cake. Now I have my digi slr I have a lot more control back!

I got my new baby! The delivery was late afternoon and here I sit at work with just the pics I snapped quickly. The lighting in ALL these situations sucked so I cant WAIT to use it correctly!!

 

So yes most of this weekend will be spent playing in natural light. The pics of me were in the bathroom. ONe so you could see my new baby and the other so Sarah could see me in my glasses.

Worked on some layouts for my "relationships" book. Kinda nice to work on some 8 1/2 by 11 for a change. They are much cuter in real life!
