1 step forward, 12 steps back

observations

1. Sick kids are never fun. Not fun for me and definitely not fun for them. Bug was sick last week and ended up staying home Wednesday, Thursday and he came to work with me Friday. By Sunday he was feeling much better and he went to school Monday and Tuesday. He woke up this morning with MAJOR nose issues and coughing like no other. I am taking him to the dr. I don't think he has the swine flu or anything but something is infected in his body and he needs some medical help to get him through it. Poor kids hope he gets better before trick or treating!

2. I am at my most craftiness when I am work. I get great ideas the mo jo, and then I get home and get lazy. Its too easy to sit and watch tv rather than get paperific. Although last night I did make some Halloween cads!

3. I am currently very proud of myself for my long nails. I have a horrible nail biting habit that I am really trying hard to break. So far I am doin ok! my nails are not extremely long, thats just not me, but cute and and taken care of.

4. I don't spend enough time on my blog. I seriously have just completely forgotten about it most of the time. I either facebook a bit or just don't have time! sorry blog folk!

5. I love the women I work with.

6. Do not like the fact that my boys are growing up faster than I expected.

7. I don't like Halloween. I love fall, love the colors and smells and the pumpkin pie, do not like the creepy scary part of fall.

heaven sent, but didn't know it at the time.

Today was running a tad late. Really.....only a tad. It was almost 9 so I wasn't late for work YET. As I rounded the corner to head to the bridge across the freeway i was met with flashing lights and a sign saying road closed! I hate when they work on that bridge! they don't give you enough warning so you can turn around! You don't see it till its too late. So I ended up being REALLY late for work. Not so much because of the bridge, but because the detour took me right past Starbucks. My best friend today is a grande white chocolate maccchiato with a double shot of espresso. I realllllllyyyy needed that this morning. Thank you God for closing the bridge.

Interview with a vampire

Me: Edward if Bella were to leave you for Jacob would you consider dating another mortal?

Edward: yes of course!

Me: Would you ever consider dating an older woman, say with kids?

Edward: Kids are yummy

Me: Would you keep me as I am so that I grow older and older, or bite me and keep me old and haggard for the rest of my life. (cuz we all know I am so past 18)

Edward: just how old are you?

smelly....

IMG_6458web

When my kids were little my favorite thing to do was give them a bath. I would lather them all up with soap and blow bubbles at them and listen to them giggle. Their little fingers would get all wrinkly and there skin would be so clean it would squeak.

Ok maybe not squeak but  you get the picture. Clean happy babies.

You want to know why I loved giving them baths?  The real reason?

I love the smell of johnson and johnson's baby shampoo. It's the best freaking smell in the world. Want to know what my boys smell like now? Dirt, girl cooties, dog, wet socks, sweat and the bus. They just have this weird odor the older they get. No matter what kind of shampoo I buy them, or even the manly deodorant, they all sort of stink at the end of the day. It's puberty right? Or is it just cuz their boys?

I am pretty sure I have the solution. I have found my next favorite smell on my boys. The smell of Hollister. Yes the smell of hollister, and good news!!!! You don't have to keep buying shirts from the mall, and not washing them! I say not washing them because before school started all of the shirts in chris's closet that came from Hollister  were unworn. I would stop and take a deep sniff when I was in there. I had plans to hold off on washing them just to keep the wonderful fragrance, but guess what!!??? It comes in spray form! That way I can spray them in secret as they run out the door to school. I can sniff them allllll I want when I hold them close. AND, I can wash their shirts..................

No matter how stinky they may be they are still adorable, and aliens.

weekend creative

This past weekend brought sniffles, fevers, and lack of appetite. Again not from me but from my little one. I spent most of saturday waiting on him hand and foot. SUNDAY he felt better and since my house was clean (i scrubbed in-between whining) I actually got creative on sunday!

It started with cards

sorry about the quality of picture. These were taken on my cell

then it was this adorable purse I learned how to make at cupcakescreations.blogspot.com. If you click on the March archives she has instructions AND a video. I even made small versions for candy holders for Halloween!

Then I messed around with my new cricut cartridge I got! Its the new woodland winter. So much fun. THere are three d houses you can cut out and put together. We all made one for Halloween!

It was great to be creative, and the juices flowing. Didn't touch a single photo! lol
