Growing up, my mother was pretty strict. Not to the point of suffocation or anything but hanging out was not acceptable, going somewhere with unknown kids was not acceptable, dating weirdos or unknowns was out and going to concerts, or places where it was dark and unsupervised (arcades) was a no no. Even CHRISTIAN rock where I am pretty sure doobies were NOT passed around. The most rock I was aloud to listen to in the house was Bon Jovi or Europe. Even after I graduated I had to leave my harder rock stuff in my truck so my little brother didn't hear it. Harder rock for me was Areosmith. Bad lyrics in quite a few songs so I understood no prob.

Now that the hard rock of my days is tame and considered CLASSIC rock (sheesh), I am living out my teenage concert years in my 30's. Oh and mom my areosmith cd's are tame compared to what Matt listens to now, so I don't think it would have even mattered if I had played "Love in an elevator" directly into his head phones while he slept. It wasn't I who corrupted the kid who has "more porn" on his cell phone ringer ( and no my brother isn't really THAT bad) Just thinks its cool to shock people in the line in front of him at grocery stores.

As a result of this teenage rebellion (in my 30's) I hit the road Sunday for Jackpot Nevada, sin city in the middle of no where, to see a Foreigner concert!!! It totally ROCKED! I really enjoyed myself and even gambled 20 dollars worth. Came home a little tired and sick from cigarette smoke, but happy non the less. There was more beer at this concert than I have EVER seen. No wonder my mother never let me go!!! Mom I was safe, didn't sit next to any guys with tattoos or piercing, I didn't get picked up by the drummer, and I didn't even drink. See how much you COULD have trusted me...giggle...what a rebel I am....

And just so my mom KNOWS who I went to see here is a sample!!

so creative!

Stack I made 25 cards this weekend!! I am so low on cards and have so many stamps I have never used. I picked a few stampin up sets and just went to work! The kids played outside most of the day and I had a crockpot dinner going so it was perfect! I made several of the same cards of a couple different sets!

salsa

Salsaw

Salsa01w

This is what me and Christopher did together last night. We made home made salsa! I had all these tomatoes and nothing to do with them i dug right in!! I had been giving so much away to keep up with the harvest (amazing for only two regular tomato plants, and more coming) that I decided to keep the current batch to myself. I blanched and peeled the toms, Chris cut them up and put them in the pot and then I cut onion, jalapeno pepper (my thumb is STILL numb) celery, and cilantro. then we added spices and let it cook for about 30 minutes. My thumb was covered in jalapeno juice and while making dinner I licked it and my tongue went numb, after a bit of crying anyway. So when I was tasting the salsa I couldn't even figure out what it was missing or anything. I just decided to freeze it up and hope for the best. I got about 5 rubber made containers full. Little containers so we can finish up the salsa before it goes bad. I brought one into work hoping it was ok. LaRee some and said it was good so YEAH!! I did it!!

The kids punishment is going well....I got a ton of housecleaning out of them last night and they did NOT talk to each other at all. Every time they thought about it gave them a look. It was so quiet! holy crap. I mean quiet. Taylor asked me how long it would be before I let them talk to each other again. I really had to think because the peace was amazing. I told him it would be when i thought they could get along with out fighting and screaming at each other. Dang that could be years.....

Mornings

Most mornings in our house are calm. The boys wake up, the boys eat breakfast, make their beds, brush their teeth and do their hair. Then they are free to do whatever they want till its time to leave. This morning did not go that way.

I am doing this in list form:

boys screamed and cried when waking up this morning because it was cold.

Boys whined and yelled because they were told to wear long sleeve shirts.

boys pushed each other while getting their close on so they would topple down and giggle, with their jeans down around the ankle.

The boys complained that they had to have cereal this morning instead of pancakes.

The boys complained that i had to ask them twice to put their cereal mess away. By mess I MEAN mess....

Then while trying to brush their teeth Chris locked bug out of the bathroom and bug proceeded to try to knock the bathroom door down.

Chris very thoughtfully opened the door for a split second to throw bugs toothbrush on the floor and slammed the door shut on bugs fingers. BAD

Chris LEFT THE DOOR SHUT ON HIS BROTHERS FINGERS WHILE TAYLOR SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER.

Chris had to comfort his brother while mom took several deep breaths while holding his finger under cold water, and checking for actual breaks it was so bad.

Chris had to apologize to bug. through tears.

Mom had to ground both boys from each other, game boys, TV, and computer. They can not talk, eat, play, or fight together.

We managed to actually get to school on time, with all our teeth brushed and all our fingers still connected.

ahhhhh the joys of freaking mother hood.
