fun, shopping, lights, and a contest!

so Saturday was a perfect day! We got up early went out and got almost ALL of our Christmas shopping done!! So excited to have almost EVERYTHING done this early!! I even got a bunch wrapped last night! I just have the boys to do and a few handmade ones to finish up and I am DONE!! YEAH!!! After a wonderful morning of shopping and traffic we headed to a new restaurant in town. Its call Franco's Italian Pizzeria. Its on first street for all of you local. Its just one building e of bubba's BBQ. FANTASTIC pizza! The crust is PERFECT. CHEAP too! we had a medium which was HUGE for 11 bucks. They have a spot where you can see them throw your pizza in the air!! The kids loved it and whats great is that its family owned and run so they have their kids in there and family. It felt really homey and comfortable! Any one local should check it out! So here come the contest! the first person locally who goes into Franco's and scans their receipt and emails it to me will get a large goodie bag from me!! So go take your family out and enjoy a good meal and get something from me also!!

I got some really cool lights while out. They are little balls and are sooo bright. I put them up last night with some garland across a plant shelf I have and they looked so cute till about an hour later when half of them were not on! The box even said if one goes out they all stay on!! I have to get up on the stool and see whats going! makes me mad. They were 9 bucks! they SHOULD work don't ya think??

Me and the boys are going to make ginger bread men and sugar cookies today!! should be a blast!! have a good one y'all!!

Twiterpation

I love the the fact that my oldest son feels so comfortable with me that he will let me read his love letters. He received a letter from a girl he has been engaged to since they were three. We all love her and know her family now because of their ..... um.... friend ship. If they grew up and actually married I would be thrilled. Course that is a LONG way away. Christopher has always included her in his future plans though. When he is done with college and when she only has one year left of college they will get married. I will be aloud to babysit when they go on 'dates' after they have kids. He told me once when he sees her he gets all tingly inside and feels like he can't breath. Dang if I didn't feel that way when I met his father.

Back to the letter though. We haven't had much contact with her lately because we have just been so busy with work and family stuff that our get togethers really haven't happened. You know going to the movies, going to pizza. The letter contains some heartfelt concern (on her part) that he has found another girlfriend. That is NOT the case and he told me so. She made him a necklace that is one of those break apart ones that says Best Friends. Well she said it should say boy friend and girl friend but that is not the point. The point is that these two kids actually think about each other when they are apart. What ten year old thinks past the end of his nose? (is that the right phrase here?) I wish that my son could have this forever, not the relationship necessary but the optimism of the whole package, the college, career, and loving family. He deserves it. We all do. I just wonder if the package will be with her......guess we have to wait 20 years to find out......

still full

of crap that is. Lol...just kidding. Still full with turkey! I had a fantastic Thanksgiving, but haven't done to much outside the house this weekend! Completed a FULL rag quilt yesterday, cleaned house today, and finished up my projects for KNK, while watching sappy girl movies!

I have a few more quick tags and a card I did too. Not too keen on the how old layout but its done and it has hidden journaling in the cute file folder. Its actually a picture of my sis on Santa's lap. I have the original. Not sure why? So I scanned it and fixed a couple scratches and the color and printed it out. I loved the hopscotch paper (the lace number cs) from Ki! wish I could have figured out a cooler way to use it!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

the tree is up~

We usually do our Christmas decorations the weekend after thanksgiving. Well this year my kids will be at their dads so we just decided to do it this weekend!! after several trips to walmart to get my NEW freaking vacuum working (yeah later post on that) we came home and got to work!! the boys really took over the tree this year. They put it up and Chris did most of the lights with my help and were so fast putting the ornaments on! They are really proud of their work and it looks great!! The tree looks so small in my new house!! We put it in the living room that doesn't have much furniture so Its just a tree room right now!! lol. I will put up my houses this weekend while the boys are gone!
