Snow snow snow....

In my heart I am so glad we have a white Christmas. In my back and upper arms I am NOT. I am so tired of shoveling already! I had to dig my car OUT to get to it and then i didn't even start it. Had my dad pick me up in his four wheel drive to take us to work. Didn't even want to bother! We havn't been hit as hard as some in the midwest but dang can winter be over yet????????????

peace and quiet

thats what I will have for the next week. Peace and quiet. But I would trade that all for Christmas with my kids. Today they head to my ex's to spend a week being merry and fighting at his house. While I will be home cleaning every inch of my house. That's my favorite past time while they are gone. No not really but I can pretend right. I do clean a lot while they are gone because that means no one comes along and messes it back up again. I try to do this the first day they are gone so I have the rest of the time alone to do what I want WHEN I want. So that I look forward to. But its still sad when they are gone, and the jolly old elf has come and gone and no one is there to care.

I did however, because I am such a nice mom (or maybe just a push over) let them open one gift before they went to school. I told them they had to be all ready for school and we had to get the suit cases and presents loaded in the car first. Well in order to GET to the flippen car I had to shovel snow...again. While I was shoveling snow. My kids opened their gifts. Taylor opened one from me. The easy bake oven. Now I know what you are thinking. You got him an easy bake oven? Hell yeah. This kid LOVES to cook and experiment. This way he can do that! He was soooo excited! I was glad he didn't burst into tears or think that it was dumb. He was ready to try it right then and there, but we had to leave! Poor kid.

Chris opened up a present Taylor got him. its a bakugan game. I guess Chris was excited, so excited all the parts and pieces are strewn all over my living room floor. Ahhh a little bit of Christmas morning a bit early...lol

So anyway i was out shoveling (breaking my back and ruining my hair) while they opened these gifts! i didn't even get to see them opening them. They said they were sorry after I started to cry. PMS, Christmas, Ex husbands and snow do not go well together. They apologized and said if i wanted to I could watch them open another? HA! lol

Merry Christmas easter bunny.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We have had snow since Friday night. Not a TON but about 3 inches. Just enough to make it yucky starting my car this morning. I am now certain I am asking Santa for a snow blower!

Saturday we stayed snuggled and warm in our home making gingerbread houses and working on Christmas projects. Got them ALL done!!! I only need to make a few GC holders. No biggie there. Saturday night we went to a coworkers house for our office party and it was so much fun! little scary coming home because it was just so icy.

Then i worked on some KNK projects for the January kit! Love January's's kit!!!

Coco card.....

Saturday was my day at KNK to do a gift for our 12 gifts of christmas!!!! The designers over there have been CHALK full of great ideas!!! Here is my gift! I got the idea off a blog a bit back and I figured out the template for a swiss miss hot chocolate pack but in all reality you can put just about anything in it. Gift Cards, candy, etc....

Apologies first.....
I had a hard time writing out the instructions for this card box, so I had my 8 year old film the steps. Sorry if its a bit shaky and hard to see at times.

Following the written steps is the link to the filmed steps....

Supplies needed

8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock ( i am using CS out of the december kit)
bone folder and ruler for scoring or
a trimmer with a scoring blade
heavy duty glue or tape runner
embelishments or stamps

1. Turn CS so 11 inch side is horizontal
2. Score CS at 1/4 then at 3.5, then at 4 inches, then at 7 1.4 inches then again at 7 3/4 inches. This will give your box a depth of 1/2 and inch and the width of 3 1/4.

Then turn your CS the other direction. Score each side at 1 inche then at 1.5 inches.

Using your trimmer or scissors cut your cs at the 1 1/2 score line you just made up toward the top of the sheet that has the 1/4 inch score line. STOP at the 4 inch score line that you did in the 2nd step. That score line is the side of your box. See video link below for clarification.

After you end up with your T shape Cut the little corners of the box that were made by your score lines

Now you are ready to decorate!
Fold all your score lines leaving the "pretty" side of your cs on the mountain side of your folds. The CS I am using is the cranberry color with the shimmer from the december kit. I wanted the shiny side on the outside of my box.

decorate the front and inside before you glue! I have added more embelishments and ribbon to my front.

To glue the box glue the 1/4 inch strip and the bottom flaps of your "inside" part of the card.

Be sure to let it sit and dry before you put the coco pack into the box.

Sorry guys!

Didn't realize it has been so long since I posted! Been busy at work the last couple days so I haven't had time to post there!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We go up to my aunts house about and hours drive away and eat till we puke and THEN we play games. . It was so nice that we went for a walk and the kids played outside most of the time! I forgot my camera so I have NO pictures. Strange for me huh?

We enjoyed the 4 day weekend by decorating the house for Christmas! I have my tree up and my collection of Christmas houses all done. Saturday we went shopping early in the morning to avoid crowds and boy we sure avoided them! The stores were dead! It was so nice to shop without people pushing and shoving. Then we headed to my office to help my dad paint. We chose a color called 'antique linen'. It looks very nice. It really needed it!

Sunday was spent working on Christmas projects (sorry can not share) and laundry. Then it was a lasagna dinner with my dad! All in all a great rest.
