I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!

I love this holiday, the snow, carols, and hot coco. Course I am in a place with NO snow. Kinda hard to get into the holiday for me with no snow. after presents and brunch we took off to the beach to walk and take some pictures. Not too chilly and could walk with just a long sleeve shirt. Enjoyed it immensely and had a ton of fun taking pics!

Well I made it!

I made it to Washington yesterday. Not too many delays and problems. Glad to be here, glad I am with my mom and brother. Mom has to work today so I am here to watch the puppy and get decorated for Christmas. This should be fun. All the old decorations from when i was a kid. Even my old stocking! NOW that I am on vacation I should be at least able to post those pics!!

My christmas letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my
children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor,
sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree
on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out
over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my
son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between
cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18
years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple,
which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze;
but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy
aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh
month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint
resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television
that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a
refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can
hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes,
Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't
fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the
use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in
the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my
voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only
be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough
time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the
luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being
served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to
brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare
ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely.

It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the
house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an
organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet
under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a
safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in
and dry off so you don't catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave
crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always,

MOM...!

PS i did not write this.....

Time to update....well past time actually

Just been enjoying the season, being with my kids and decorating for the holidays. Got the tree up on Saturday, no pictures yet. Still have the plastic boxes all over the living room cuz I have to do the decorations in stages. as soon as those clear i will take some pics to post. Sunday we did pretty much nothing. Some laundry and some more decorating, played monopoly and watched a Christmas story. It was just nice not to have to go shopping or anything. I have almost all my shopping done! Just need to do some w'out my kids if ya know what I mean. I have all the gifts and some even wrapped, just need to get my butt moving on the ones I need to mail. only three really so it wont be too bad.

Here is a layout I did last weekend during the cyber crop at the little scrapbox. it was fun to just hang out in the scrap room and get some Christmas presents done. I did this layout as a challenge on a favorite Christmas gift. I love this gift and had to do it!! Oh and it was also a contest and I won!!!

wondering, retreat, refresh

ever notice that life seems to be pushing you into a corner? With the walls coming closer and closer to your head till you feel squeezed into a space so small you explode? then soon after you take a break, a weekend, a walk, or a vacation and you feel relaxed and refreshed. Ready to head back to the 'real' world and tackle the corner all over again? With sick kids, major stress at work this week, and just the general apprehension of Christmas sneaking up, i want a vacation. Now. Not two weeks from now, not this weekend. Right now. I took a break from work, drove to the local Java hut (see my play on the star wars icon) and got a Almond Mocha Rocha with white chocolate instead of brown (or is is it dark?). And I had my vacation. I pulled off the side of the road and drank the creamy, smooth mocha and felt it on my tongue, then felt it drip down my throat. I feel sooo much better. I am ready again. I can see the corner from here. oh wait the kids came in with a ton of homework, someone is on hold waiting to yell at me, and my dad wants two quotes done right now. OK....well I am at the corner...anyone want to go pick me up some almond mocha Rocha with a side of tekillya?

Home with a sick kid

Poor baby has a fever and a sore throat. So far thats all it is! Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't turn into strep.

yesterday was a good day. Taylor slept most of it and Chris had reading for school to do so I scrapped! Not a ton of pages just one actually but finished up my Christmas cards and some presents! nice to get that done.

Today I am going to do some housecleaning while I can...and hopefully get some more proofing done on the shoots I did on Saturday! One down and two to go!

Have a great Monday!
