Did a bit of scrapping today

Kinda got a late start...slept in but I have been a bit creative today. Did this layout of my son for his sixth bday. Fun one with American Crafts paper. The tags have all his "favorites @ six".                                                

I also sorted all my vacation photos from 2005 and started the mini album for them. Did the title page and the first three pages. Its kinda nice to work in the 8x8 format once in awhile. Its very simple with mostly pictures and journaling. I am following a simple design throughout the book so I might actually get it done. Lots of blues, greens, oranges and purples. Fun, calm colors!

unfortunately no pics ;(. Got there and realized i had left my memory card at home!! What a photographer!!

Well they won 14 to zip. The kids played fantastic. Actually knew the positions, and passed to their team mates. Makes a huge difference to play well together. It also helped that the team they played didn't know a thing about soccer. But i don't think that was their fault...apparently the coach doesn't do much coaching. One mom told me they had only had one practice! poor kids. Our goalies never did have to do anything. In the fourth quarter our coach pulled out all but four players to help out the other team. Just wish I had some pics! There is next week with soccer everyday cept for THURSDAY!! Shoot me NOW!

Project to work on!!

THANKS Mom!! got the CD of my brothers wedding from my mom today! They were taken on a digital SLR by her landlord. So thankful they are in focus. Gonna spend some time with them in Photo shop to try and make them a bit more special. Then make an album for them for their gift. Hopefully if I can get out there this summer I can do some romantic photos for them, and shoot the reception party they are planning. Keeping my fingers crossed. the wedding was on a boat off the Washington coast. Just cozy and intimate! Are they not CUTE!!!???

 

Nice Sunday

 

Spent the morning cleaning...although to look at it now you couldn't tell. Then read for a good three hours with Chris. Took a nap with Taylor. Made fruit salad with the boys, and dinner then made some cards. I really wanted to scrap but just couldn't get the mojo going.

Taylor gave me this today. Love the fact that he is learning to read and is even trying to sound stuff out by himself!! This WILL be on a page soon....!

Friend is MUCH better!

Went to visit her today. She is still in ICU, but breathing tube is out! She was sitting up eating ice chips and just a bit drugged. Well OK quite a bit drugged. She recognized both me and the kids and held Chris's hand and told him she loved him. She couldn't talk much from the tube after effects, but thanked us for coming. The kids made her a huge poster for her room. She is mostly confused about what happened. Keeps asking people why she is there. Dr's say that is normal. They hope that if she is ambulatory ( see mom some things do stick) tomorrow they hope to move her to the forth floor. Keeping my fingers crossed!

BEAUTIFUL day today! Amazingly warm weather for April, considering the snow just melted from the storm last weekend. Had a great morning doing a mothers day shoot, grocery shopping at walmart and then hanging out with the kids in the yard. Did a bit of yard work but not enough. Its supposed to rain tomorrow so if it does I plan to do a bit of house work (OK A LOT) and maybe scrap...if its nice I want to get OUTSIDE!! As I type this a steady breeze is coming up.....darn.

My friend has been through some major health problems lately. PCOS, endemetriosis (sp?), high blood pressure, and birth control pills, and on top of that, smoking. Apparently the combination of all those things did her heart in. Her fiance was driving her to the ER for a burning chest and she died in the car. At the sidewalk of the er they worked on her for 15 minutes before they got a pulse back. She is alive. They have had her in a hypothermia type sleep and are going to slowing bring her back to temperature in a six hour period. After six hours they will run a series of tests to see what effect it had on her brain. Until then its still a bit scary. Please say a prayer for her and her family if you have a moment. She is only 33 years old....

PRAYERS PLEASE!!!

One of my good friends had a heart attack today. I really would appreciate any prayers or good thoughts you could muster.....Please?!!

Finally a sunny day!

Wish I could be raking my yard and cleaning out flower beds...hopefully this saturday.

Still snow in the ground this morning. Hoping Chris's soccer practice is canceled tonight.

Chicken smell is almost gone. Thanks for everyone who posted on that. They all thought it was hilarious. You come sleep in there bed and see how much you laugh then.

Gave M and S their photos today. She wasn't there when I dropped them off. Really nervous about what she thinks. Her dad is a published photographer. He doesn't do portraits though....keep your fingers crossed for me.

a BIG shout out to my lil bro!! HE got married  on SATURDAY!! I am now the proud owner of a new Sister in LAW!! She is great too!!! Love you guys!!!!

Amazing shoot today!

Had a great shoot with a wonderful couple and came away from it with a wonderful feeling. HAD to do the photos tonight I was so excited. Got about 50 for the couples disk and love almost every single one of them. NEVER happened before. Very cute couple!

I think I am going to PUKe!!!

OK for about a week now my sons room has started to become a little rank. They did a good cleaning and I shampooed the carpet hoping that's all it was. The smell got stronger. I thought maybe it was from the toilet in their bathroom Nope toilet fine no leakage no smell in there. I just kept thinking it was food. There is a STRICT rule about NO food in bedrooms, Not even candy. So if they HAD taken food they were not owning up to it. Today I made them clean under the bottom bunk thinking I would find an empty yogurt cup or apple core and nothing!! But the smell was STILL there. HORRIBLE now. AS I leaned over to help them put the bottom bunk back in place (after vacuuming under and in the bed and the mattress just cuz we were there) I bent over next to the top bunk and WHAM something hit my shnoze! I lifted UP the mattress to see a zip-lock bag with a CHICKEN BREAST!!! a RAW one!! WTF!!! I scream for them to get me a garbage and THANK GOD in heaven the bag did not break open. WE got it thrown away and I made my OLDEST (his doing of the chicken) strip his bed and wash his sheets, VACUUM the the bed frame and mattress. WASH The HOLE bunk with Mr clean antibacterial soap THEN Clorox!!! WE fa-breezed everything and now he has a fan in the window hoping to suck some of the smell out. I am so furious I cant even look at HIM!! He says he remembers now what happened! He hid the chicken I had taken out to thaw for dinner cuz he didn't want it. OMG!! Am I aloud to clean bad thoughts out of his brain with a bottle washer??? I am soooooo mad and disgusted. I am glad we did this BEFORE the shower cuz NOW I just feel gross and smelly!!! I think he learned his lesson cuz he was BAWLING uncontrollably. I told him how lucky he was the bag didn't break into his mattress cuz that thing would have gone to the DUMP and he wouldn't have a bed for a LONG time.....

UGH.......the joys of fricken mother hood.

On a happier note. I am escaping the week of bad smells (see my post about the yucky apple candle below) and heading over to pappa and Gloria's house for Easter egg dying, and sloppy Joe lunch. (not really that hungry).

My kids are gonna FREAK!!!

Not a great night for sleeping...

so for the first time in a week I can breath!! Was looking for a full night of NOT snoring or sniffling. Didn't even have to take any meds! Well the story is that i bought a candle from walmart. Wanted a new "springy" candle and didn't have time to run to Hallmark for a Yankee, so I got one I thought would be nice. it was Candy apple i think. I use a candle warmer and turn in on in the evening. Left it on when I went to bed. yeah not smart but completely forgot about it. Woke up about 11 with a HORRIBLE smell in my nose! NO not fire! Went out and the whole house just REEKS, ca-ca putty!! ew....that candle is sooooo freaking nasty!! Hard to describe the smell but bad enough that at midnight I am digging out the fan and opening all the windows trying to get rid of this nasty smell. It was so bad guys i ready to puke! Even though its a bit chilly today I left three windows cracked to see if I could get the the smell OUT! Going home at lunch wish me luck. Maybe i will stop and get a Salt city candle, I know those are good!!!

Wanted to use bleach on a card so I did this.....

Nothing too major, used a stampin up stamp and a ribbon and that's it. Just simple but fun.....

Boys had a horrible fight last night, Taylor wronged Chris in a big way. After I sat down and talked to Taylor about what he did he felt horrible, and apologized to Chris over and over, then came in and asked if he could sleep with Chris so that Chris would know how much he really loved him. My kids fight quite a bit, but its nice to know when they show each other love, it really is genuine.

I little more than a month till CKU! I am already starting my lists. Can't wait much longer! I went a couple years ago and its an experience I think every one should have! amazing fun!

Sold 3 flood policies yesterday. Totaling about 3500 bucks. Unbelievable what a little flooding will do to boost the office economy. Unfortunately there is a standard 30 day waiting period if a mortgagee does not require it. Hope they didn't wait too long...

THIS is how great the sidewalk paint looks on my SON!! LOL.....He sure had fun!

Thank goodness its all washable. The favorite technique was squirting it at mom as she came out the door. That stuff would shoot about 10 feet! You suck the paint up into a tube and use different head attachments for different effects. No attachments meant more fun.......

There are about 6 kids in my yard playing softball!! Where did they all come from? I only know about 3 not including my kids. Hope they don't mind the game has to end soon due to the nutritional needs of my kids!! I LOVE spring!!!

The best plans never pan out...

Today i was going to get up and clean house so I would be free to scrap! With the boys gone its sounds perfect. Well after having the tummy flu last week and now a cold I have no strength. I did run the dishes and swept the kitchen floor but didn't have the energy to do anything else. I did scrap though. But now I feel the fever coming back on and all I want to do is go curl up on the couch. I just HAD to get one layout done!! Paper is Scenic route along with chipboard accents.

This was so fun to do...Hope I didn't get any snot on it. I got the inspiration from this lady, whom is probably my new scrap booking idol. She is fantastic! If you haven't read her blog I suggest you do!!

Not been feeling very well. Went home early today. Nothing to report. Hopefully a blog entry this weekend.

My baby is gone

My sweet baby is all grown up! Can't really face it. Can't have another (don't want another), but there it is staring me in the face. Yesterday he rode his bike without training wheels. As a matter of fact, the minute he got on the bike without the training wheels he took off like a shot right at his brother.  We were all so startled and shocked we just stood there with our jaws open and his brother screaming like a little girl. Course I might scream too if a crazed kid came at me on a bike! After a few tries he had it! ALL of it. Caught on sooo dang fast. Cried a bit last night as I was drifting off to sleep...sniff sniff.

Had a CRAZY dream about THIS lady last night! It was cku time and instead of it being at the Marriott Hotel it was in the middle of nowhere! Lots of trees and wildlife. It was like a dude ranch. One main cabin with a dozen or so little cabins all around. There were only two people PER cabin and they were chosen by numbers. Donna and I picked the same number. LUCKY me!! The next morning we fought over who got the bathroom first and believe it or not I ended up pushing her into the toilet. Then trying to help were wash her pants in the bathtub, with her in them. It wasn't coming clean so after calling in backup (other crazy scrappers) we ended up talking her into actually changing  her clothes so we could wash the urine soaked ones. K....now what the H*** is that all about? What was I thinking??? What sick twisted thoughts are coming out in my subconscious thought?

I am NOW publicly apologizing for pushing DONNA DOWNEY in the toilet!! even it was just in my dream I feel extremely guilty!! phew glad I got that off my chest!! LOL
